S.T. Dupont Ligne 1 Gold – Grand Modèle, 1980s

A vintage S.T. Dupont Ligne 1 lighter in gold, in the larger Grand Modèle format, dating to the 1980s.

The Ligne 1 was introduced in the 1960s and remains the line collectors most associate with S.T. Dupont's early lighter making. It was refined in the 1970s into the BR — short for Briquet Réglable, or “adjustable lighter” — the flame-adjustable butane version that became the model's definitive form and stayed in production into the early 2000s. Offered in two sizes, the Grand Modèle gives the design a little more presence in the hand than the more commonly seen small model.

This is a 1980s example in gold, an accessible entry point into vintage Dupont collecting and a straightforward everyday carry. The lighter has been serviced and is in perfect working order.
