S.T. Dupont New York 5th Avenue Limited Edition lighter NEW OLD STOCK
S.T. Dupont New York 5th Avenue — 2007 Limited Edition, New Old Stock
A rare S.T. Dupont New York 5th Avenue lighter from the 2007 limited edition, individually numbered as part of a run of just 1,929 pieces — genuine new old stock, never used.
In 2007, S.T. Dupont continued its world tour of the decorative arts with the New York 5th Avenue collection, paying tribute to New York itself and to the French interior designers who decorated the private apartments and offices of the city's elite along the Upper East Side and Fifth Avenue through the 1930s and 40s — a sophisticated style blending 16th-century Hispanic baroque, 18th-century French classicism, and the surrealism of the era, in a deliberate break from the purity of Art Deco. Lighters, pens, and accessories from the collection were decorated with golden arabesques set against rich taupe and chocolate lacquer. The pocket lighters, offered in Ligne 2 and a smaller Ligne 2 model, were individually numbered out of 1,929 — a reference to the year Lucien Tissot-Dupont first travelled to New York.
This example is genuine new old stock from that numbered edition, finished in the collection's signature golden arabesque design over lacquer, preserved exactly as it left the factory and never carried. The lighter has been serviced and is in perfect working order.
