S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 Grand Modèle — Silver Vertical Stripes, New Old Stock

A S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 in the full-size Grand Modèle, finished in silver with fine vertical striping, preserved in new old stock condition and complete with its box, outer sleeve and international guarantee card.

S.T. Dupont produced its first luxury lighter in 1941, and the Ligne 2 introduced in 1977 became the model the maison is known for. Vertical striping — côtes fines in the French catalogues — is the pattern that suits the Ligne 2 best, because it follows the case rather than fighting it: the lines run unbroken from the base to the lid and make an already upright lighter look taller still.

In silver the effect is cooler and more architectural than in gold. Each groove catches a separate line of light, so the lighter reads as a series of bright verticals rather than a single reflective slab, and fingerprints and handling marks disappear into the texture almost entirely.

This example has never been carried. The striping is sharp to the edges, the plating unworn, and the lid closes with the clean, ringing note collectors listen for. It is offered with its original box, outer sleeve and the S.T. Dupont Carte de Garantie Internationale. Serviced and in perfect working order.
