S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 Prince of Wales Silver NEW OLD STOCK lighter
S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 Prince of Wales Silver – New Old Stock, 1980s – Box, Papers & Guarantee Card
A genuine new old stock S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 lighter in silver with the Prince of Wales pattern, dating to the 1980s and never sold or used — a rare, pristine vintage Dupont lighter complete with its original box, papers, and guarantee card.
S.T. Dupont's history stretches back to 1872, when Simon Tissot Dupont founded a Paris leather workshop for fine goods, later mastering the lacquer and metalworking techniques that would come to define its luxury lighters. In 1977, the maison introduced the Ligne 2 as its larger, flagship lighter model, and the Prince of Wales pattern — named after the British royal title — became one of its most refined and recognisable designs.
This particular lighter has quite a story. It was originally destined to be sold in Italy, but never left the shop — I found it, along with a small hoard of other 1980s S.T. Dupont lighters, in Milan, after the store's long-time owner finally closed up shop. The Italian tax stamp still attached to the underside is proof of its origin and that it never made it onto a shelf. It arrives as a complete set — original box, papers, and guarantee card — in pristine, never-used condition, with full provenance and a one-year warranty, and has been serviced to ensure it's in perfect working order: a true collector's find.
