S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 small gold vertical stripes lighter NEW OLD STOCK with box and papers
S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 Petit Modèle — Gold Vertical Stripes, New Old Stock
A S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 in the smaller Petit Modèle size, finished in gold with fine vertical striping, in new old stock condition and complete with its box, outer sleeve and international guarantee card.
S.T. Dupont produced its first luxury lighter in 1941, and the Ligne 2 of 1977 became its defining model. Vertical striping is the most enduring pattern in the range and the one most often copied by other makers, which says something about how well it works: the lines run the full height of the case and continue across the roller, so the lighter reads as a single uninterrupted object rather than a body with a mechanism attached.
On the Petit Modèle the proportion changes. The same striping compressed into a narrower case reads finer and more formal than it does on the Grand Modèle — the closest thing in the Dupont catalogue to a dress lighter.
This example has never been carried, with the striping crisp to the edges and the gold entirely unworn. It comes with its original box, outer sleeve and the S.T. Dupont Carte de Garantie Internationale. Serviced and in perfect working order.
