S.T. Dupont's history as a luxury house stretches back to 1872, when Simon Tissot Dupont founded a Paris workshop crafting fine leather goods, later mastering the lacquer and metalworking techniques that would define its lighters and writing instruments. In 1977, S.T. Dupont introduced the Ligne 2 as the larger, more substantial companion to the Ligne 1, and it quickly became the collection's flagship model.

This piece is a genuine first-generation Ligne 2 from that original 1977–78 run, finished in silver with classic vertical stripes. It is in excellent condition, with no notable signs of wear. The lighter has been serviced and is in perfect working order.
