S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 Grand Modèle — Silver Diamond Tip, Full Set

A vintage S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 in the full-size Grand Modèle, finished in silver with the diamond tip pattern — pointe de diamant — in mint condition and offered as a complete set: original box, outer sleeve, instruction booklet and S.T. Dupont guarantee card.

S.T. Dupont produced its first luxury lighter in 1941, and the Ligne 2 introduced in 1977 became the model the maison is known for. Pointe de diamant is the most sculptural of its engine-turned finishes: the surface is cut into a dense field of tiny four-sided pyramids, each with its own point. In gold the effect is warm and glittering; in silver it turns cooler and sharper, closer to cut crystal, with every facet throwing back a small, bright point of light.

Those raised points are also where a diamond tip shows its history first, because they are the part that meets the hand, the pocket and the table. This example is in mint condition overall, with the pattern crisp across both faces. In the interest of accuracy, a couple of individual tips are slightly flattened — a detail you would have to look for, and one we would rather point out than leave you to find.

One detail for collectors: the filler cap carries a green gas dot. It is less common on this configuration, but it is one we have seen on other silver diamond tip examples, and it is consistent with the lighter being original.
