Solid Gold S.T. Dupont Lighters

Solid 18 carat gold is the top of the S.T. Dupont catalogue, and always has been. The house produced its first lighter in gold in 1941, and by the 1960s was selling a formal range under the heading or contrôlé 18 carats — assayed gold, hallmarked like fine jewellery, and priced at roughly ten times the equivalent gold-plated model.

These are not plated lighters. A solid gold Dupont carries the French eagle’s head assay punch and a 750 or 18K fineness mark, never a micron figure, and the weight is immediately obvious in the hand. Every piece we list is serviced, in perfect working order, and photographed with its hallmarks visible.

Solid gold examples come up rarely, so this collection is small by nature. For the full documented range, including models we have handled but do not currently stock, see our illustrated reference of solid gold S.T. Dupont models.
