Genuinely limited: since the late 1980s S.T. Dupont has built numbered editions around a theme — a city, a period, a partner house — in small runs, often using materials and finishes never offered in the standard range.

Does the edition number affect the value?

The size of the run matters more than the individual number, though early numbers attract their own following. What moves the figure most is condition and whether the edition is complete with its box and papers. Our value guide explains how rarity feeds into price.

Should I keep a limited edition unused?

An unused example in its box will always be the easier one to sell on. But a serviced lighter that is actually carried loses very little if it is looked after, and it was built to be used — that is your call, not ours.

How do I confirm an edition is genuine?

Has it been serviced, and is it guaranteed?

Can I return it?

Yes — you have 30 days from receiving it to request a return. The lighter needs to come back unused and in its original packaging with proof of purchase, and return shipping is arranged and paid by you.
